The Anishnaabemowin Project at Sagamok

We are very excited to celebrate the official launch of the Anishnaabemowin Project at Sagamok Anishnawbek. We co-developed this project over the last few years. It involved creating over 75 videos that showcase Anishnaabemowin related to the community’s history, identity, land, and relationships. 

These videos include a mix of vocabulary lessons, conversations, songs, prayers, and interviews. 

All materials are freely available on the Sagamok Education website for community members near and far to access. The site also includes access to another 25 resources we developed in collaboration with Biidaaban Kinoomaagegamik, the Nation’s school.

We are honoured to have played a role in helping Sagamok bring this project to life. Our team is grateful for the opportunity to work with the community members, Elders, language speakers, and Knowledge Keepers to build these videos. We appreciate the trust you showed in working with us and the knowledge you shared as part of this project.
