The Learning Bird team has been an incredible partner in helping us create resources that reflect our community and support our unique dialect of Oji-Cree. They provided invaluable guidance in developing our holistic Oji-Cree language and culture curriculum. Our team of Knowledge Keepers, Elders, and educators really enjoyed working together to develop the curriculum. This process brought our education team closer together, and the curriculum will provide our students with relevant culture and language programming.

My experience working with Learning Bird has been collaborative and responsive from the outset. They provided steady support throughout the development process and demonstrated flexibility as our goals and timelines shifted. Working with Learning Bird to create these resources was a great experience. They helped us document each step involved in making fish nets and moccasins. Now, youth across all the Matawa First Nation community schools can learn how to make them while speaking their language.

Since 2024, the North Slave Métis Alliance has worked closely with Learning Bird on multiple community-based projects. Specifically, the Learning Bird team has provided professional support in creating and delivering useful resources for the community, such as educational videos and community outreach documents.

They have provided our staff with expert guidance and support when applying for various funding opportunities to build internal capacity and access resources to continue important community initiatives.
