2024 Wrapped: A Year-End Review
As 2024 comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to celebrate the milestones, partnerships, and connections we’ve shared over the past year. It’s been an incredible journey, and we couldn’t have done it without our amazing community partners across Turtle Island.
Over the last year, we’ve proudly worked on 110 projects, building relationships with 29 unique community partners. This included continuing collaborations with 14 long-standing partners and starting exciting new work with 15 additional communities.
Connecting face-to-face with communities is at the heart of what we do. This year, we travelled to 11 communities across 4 provinces and 1 territory, making 22 trips to engage with Elders, Knowledge Holders, and educators. Whether facilitating teacher workshops, attending conferences, or collaborating in classrooms, every interaction helped deepen our shared purpose.
Our team continues to grow and evolve! This year, we welcomed 9 talented new team members whose diverse perspectives strengthen our work and enrich the Learning Bird family.
We’re also thrilled to have launched two exciting new initiatives. First, we began hosting regular webinars for educators, covering impactful topics such as Enhancing Learning Through Play, Decolonizing Math, and meaningful ways to honour Orange Shirt Day in classrooms. These sessions have created valuable opportunities for learning and collaboration.
Second, we introduced our monthly LinkedIn newsletter, News from the Nest! Through this platform, we’ve shared blog posts, classroom tips, free resources, and updates on our team’s travels. If you haven’t already, subscribe to stay connected and explore the many ways we’re building community through education.
Here’s to another incredible year of growth, collaboration, and meaningful connections in 2025. We can’t wait to see what the future holds!
